Bible Sunday 8/16: Almost

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 114:1-8. Verse 7 KJV, what, if anything, do I tremble at? Why does God‘s word command that we tremble?

I Kings 21:1-29. Verses 20-23, Elijah pronounces God‘s verdict of guilt on Ahab and Jezebel. Who or what exercises such moral authority in today’s world? Does God approve?

Acts 26:12–32. Verse 28 KJV, who is known to me as an “almost persuaded Christian“? What can I do to help him or her through the narrow gate?

Mark 14:43-52. Verse 47, related question, when have I tried a mistaken approach to witnessing for Jesus? Present application?
