Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 84:1-12. Verses 2-4, situating myself in God’s courts, his altars, his house. How do I spiritually go about doing this all day today?
Job 40:1-24. Verses 11 and 12, abasing and humbling the proud, which man can’t do but God can. If he moved mightily to do that in our country right now, what might that look like?
II Corinthians 13:1-14. Verse 5, examining myself honestly, where do I see God’s fingerprints on the person I have become? What do I see that must displease and sadden him?
Luke 10:1-16. Verse 2, what does Christ’s harvest of souls to save specifically look like in my community right now? What is my church doing about it? My role?
