Bible Wednesday 1/13: Salt and Light

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 34:1-22. Verse 8, in what practical, specific ways can I go about tasting God?

Genesis 13:1-18. Verses 6-9, what can I learn from Abram’s handling of the dispute with Lot? Where is God in this story?

Hebrews 6:1-12. Verse 6, horrific picture of the believer who goes bad and crucifies Jesus all over again. What are the stages on that person’s downward path? Am I in any danger of becoming that person?

Matthew 5:13-20. Verse 13, what opportunity will I have today to be salt for others? What opportunity to be light? To fulfill Jesus’ command, what must I avoid in each case?
