Bible Monday 10/11: Life's Not Fair

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 105:1-45. Verses 17-22, what spiritual guidance and encouragement can I take today from Joseph’s unlikely career as God’s instrument?

I Chronicles 18:1-17. God’s favor upon David’s military conquests. How shall I go about seeking God’s favor upon the tasks and goals that matter most to me right now?

Ephesians 3:8-21. Verses 14-19, another of Paul’s verbatim prayers for his Christian flock. Who are three dear ones that I can cover with this prayer today? What would it look like for each of them to have it answered?

Luke 13:1-9. Innocent victims of cruel tyranny or random tragedy. How would i answer a new believer anguishing that Jesus seems to let bad things happen to good people? (Not excluding me.)
