Bible Sunday 10/31: Darkness No More

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 108:1-13. Verses 7-11, God’s sovereignty over all cities and countries. What are some specific places I’d pray to see him ruling and subduing today?

II Chronicles 9:1-30. Verse 1, related, a heathen ruler tests God’s ruler with hard questions. What are some hard questions that the worldly mind can’t answer but the mind of Christ can? Application to me?

Colossians 1:9-18. Verse 14, our redemption through his blood. How does this make my whole day different?

Luke 18:35-43. Verse 41, as so often, Jesus asks what the man wants from him. Does my request to him today have the faith, the boldness, and the expectancy that he’s looking for?
