Bible Friday 12/24: Bright Glory

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 133:1-3. How does the incarnation of Jesus Christ unite all his followers as brothers and sisters? How can everyone at my church live into this more fully in the coming year?

Micah 4:1-13. God’s restoration of Zion. Why, after two millennia, do these social and political blessings seem no nearer to realization? What encouragement if any can Christians take from these glowing promises?

Hebrews 1:1-14. If I took as high a view of the divinity of Jesus, Mary’s son, as this chapter does, how would it change the way I think and act from day to day?

Matthew 1:18-25. Verse 21, what are the sins which I needed, or still need, Jesus to save me from? Being thus saved by the Father, Son, and Spirit, what do I owe them in return today?
