Bible Saturday 12/25: The Savior is Born

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 2:1-12. Verse 2, as Christmas comes again, how do we see the heathen still raging against God and his anointed? Verse 12, by what patterns of thought and action can I kiss the Son each day in 2022?

Micah 5:1-15. Verse 2, Israel’s ruler to come forth at Bethlehem. If, as some say, Jesus is foreshadowed on every page of the Old Testament, how does that benefit me here and now?

Hebrews 2:1-18. Verse 12, with Jesus declaring himself a brother to me, what can I expect from him today? What does he expect from me?

Luke 2:1-20. What qualities equipped the shepherds to be the first to come and see the Christ child—and how can I express more of those qualities with God’s help?
