Bible Saturday 2/20: Cry Me a River

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:129-176. Verses 136 and 158, does my church teach that God commands one unvarying standard for righteous human conduct, or that standards vary by times and places? Do I live accordingly?

Proverbs 1:1-33. Verse 7 KJV, related question, does my relationship with God rest on this ancient sense of fear? How would others notice?

Romans 4:13-25. Verses 19-21, Abraham staggered not at God’s promise. For what need should I pray a bigger prayer today, never worrying that His goodness is too good to be true?

Matthew 13:24-30. Related, patiently awaiting the harvest. When has God shown me his timing is better than mine? Application to present needs?
