Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:89-128. Verse 113 KJV, what are some vain thoughts that may claim my attention today? What is the specific antidote for each of them, rooted in God’s truth?
Genesis 50:1-26. Verse 20, what expressions of evil intent are stirring in my life right now, or in the wider world, which I can ask God to redirect for a good purpose of his own?
Romans 4:1-12. When have I received grace from God that I didn’t earn or deserve? How can I live out my gratitude for that today?
Matthew 13:18-23. Verse 19, Jesus says the seed is his word of the kingdom. What exactly does that word say to me? What’s involved in my being careful or careless with it today?
