Bible Thursday 2/18: The Father Came Running

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:49-88. Verse 64, earth is full of God’s mercy. Even in these hard times, how many examples can I quickly think of? Application to my needs today?

Genesis 49:1-33. Jacob profiles his twelve sons and their tribes. How has God’s plan for my life and value overtaken any plans made by my parents or me? Prayer point for my future?

Jonah 4:1-11. Upon whom do I see God bestowing grace and kindness right now, which to me seems objectionable because undeserved? Was there ever a time when others thought I was getting off too easy?

Luke 15:1-32. Verses 28-30, related question, how is the elder brother like Jonah? What mistake are both making about God? When have I made that mistake?
