Bible Friday 2/26: The Struggle

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 139:1-24. Verses 17 and 18 KJV, am I indeed capable of knowing some of God’s thoughts? What’s imparted to me in so doing? In what way are they precious and countless? Why need I awake?

Proverbs 7:1-27. What’s my answer to the world’s accusation that Judeo-Christian religion is overly preoccupied with sex?

Romans 7:13-25. What’s my experience of the struggle this describes, wanting to do right yet repeatedly doing wrong? Verses 24 and 25, how does one obtain the deliverance Christ offers?

Matthew 14:1-12. How do the ruling powers of today deal with warnings from God just as Herod did, namely by trying to silence the messenger? What should be my church’s response? My role?
