Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 138:1-8. Verse 6, the high God respects lowly humans. Who will cross my path today, that I may tend to ignore, forgetting that Jesus loves and values them as lavishly as he does me?
Proverbs 6:1-35. Verses 6-11, how does spiritual or material laziness work upon me unawares? What is God’s remedy? Action point for today?
Romans 7:1-12. Verse 6, if I am bound to Christ in a marriage covenant, what does that offer me and what does it require of me? What is the fruit I am to bring forth?
Matthew 13:53-58. It’s said familiarity breeds contempt. Is this why Christianity is languishing in the US and dying in Europe, but flourishing in formerly pagan lands of Africa and Asia? Do I know Jesus almost too well?
