Bible Sunday 2/14: His Plan Supersedes Ours

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 1009:1-31. Verses 2-5, what persons or powers specifically seek to harm me and my family? How can I experience God’s protection and deliverance from these threats today?

Genesis 45:1-28. Verses 5-8, when have I seen God bring good out of something bad that was done by me or to me? Present application?

Romans 3:27-31. How would I explain “saving faith” to a college student who was raised in atheism but now seeks to know God?

Matthew 13:1-9. As Jesus observes me right now, what does he see as the more fruitful and less fruitful areas of my Christian life? What steps can I take for better cultivation of my heart’s “soil” this year?
