Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 40:1-17. Verses 7-9, if I could read the page that is written about me in God’s book of life, what would it say is the purpose I was put here to fulfill? How am I doing on that, so far in 2021?
Proverbs 26:1-28. Verse 11, when have I repeated the same obvious sin or mistake with bad consequences for myself and others? Present application?
Romans 14:14-23. Verse 15, how might my experience be different all day today if I silently say to each person I see or think of, “Christ died just for you”?
Matthew 19:23-30. Verse 24, how is this warning of Jesus that one must pass through a needle’s eye to enter the kingdom of God, relevant to me? Must some of that occur this very day, not just in the past or future?
