Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 37:1-40. Verses 1, 7, and 8 KJV, what problem, person, or power has been making me fretful, worried, anxious, or uneasy? Do I or do I not believe God is able to bring me through all of those?
Proverbs 25:1-28. Verses 16 and 27, in what do I tend to overdo or over-indulge? Why does this displease God? How is my Lenten fast coming along?
Romans 14:1-13. What has been, or is now, my best experience of a close and mutually supportive fellowship in Christ? What might we do to make it even better?
Matthew 19:16-22. What have I been holding tightly that Jesus wants me to hold more loosely, or let go of entirely, in order to follow him truly and unreservedly?
