Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:1-48. Verse 29, what are some of the lies I may tell, believe, or act upon, unless delivered from them by God? How shall I obtain and apply that deliverance?
Exodus 8:1-32. Plagues of frogs, lice, and flies. Have I ever been as deaf to God’s warnings as Pharaoh was?
I Corinthians 15:50-58. Verse 57, how does the victory over death that is ours through Jesus Christ make a difference for me today, even if many years remain in my earthly life?
John 5:1-15. Verses 5-8, have I been giving Jesus a self-justification, excuse, or complaint, when all he wants from me is a simple yes?
