Bible Tuesday 4/20: Hitherto

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:49-88. Verse 63 KJV, who are some of my closest companions in the faith? How can I make myself more companionable, so as to bless others more and be blessed by them?

Exodus 9:1-35. Verses 27 and 34, Pharaoh confesses his sin yet persists in it. When have I witnessed, or committed, such incorrigible sin? How many chances does God give us? What’s the limit of his patience?

I Corinthians 1:1-9. Verse 7 KJV, behind in no gift. What quality, ability, or trait seems to be in deficit in my makeup? Do I trust God to begin filling that deficiency when I humbly pray for it?

John 5:16-23. What possibilities and responsibilities are mine today because God is my Father? Jesus claimed this fearlessly. Does it carry any shadow of fear for me? Do I for any reason hold back?
