Bible Thursday 7/29: Wondrous Lord

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 7:1-20. Verses 11 and 14 KJV, our God works wonders. Using that timeworn word with exactness, what is truly wondrous about God’s ways and his care for us?

Hosea 3:1-5. Verse 2, the prophet buys back his unfaithful wife out of the slave market. When has the tough grind of obeying God seemed almost too much for me? What did I learn?

Acts 23:12-22. An alert nephew saves Paul from 40 sworn assassins. What huge unseen struggle between Christ and Satan is underway right now, requiring of me the utmost initiative and courage? First step today?

Mark 12:35-40. King Jesus tells of how King David foresaw him in Psalm 110. As a servant of the King of Kings, here and now, what duty am I under and what reward am I promised?
