Bible Wednesday 7/28: Homecoming

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 73:1-28. Verse 28, draw near to God. What attitudes and actions will bring me closer to God today,, or distance me from him?

Hosea 2:1-23 Verse 23, honestly taking stock for myself, my family, and my friends, what have we done that unfits us to be called God’s people? What has he done to show us mercy nonetheless?

Acts 22:30-23:11. Verse 6, what would it look like for me to live all day today on fire with resurrection hope?

Mark 12:28-34. Verse 34 KJV, not far from the kingdom of God. Why did Jesus say “not far”? What else besides the two great commandments did this Jew (or do I) need to enter the kingdom?
