Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 42:1-11. Verse 8, God’s care for us all night long. In what specific way do I need to experience this, starting tonight?
Deuteronomy 17:1-20. God’s rules on punishments, witnesses, priestly verdicts, kingly duties. Is my church’s involvement with civil government too much, too little, or about right? My role?
Hebrews 7:11-28. Verse 25, Jesus our intercessor. How does the Son’s recommendation gain me favor with the Father? What particular need do I have for this today?
Matthew 6:25-34. Verse 33, as I go through this day, what may distract me from seeking God’s kingdom first of all? How shall I counteract that?
