Bible Monday 10/31: The Homecoming

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 2:1-12. Verses 1-3, what form do this rage and breaking away by God’s enemies take at present? Am I at all susceptible to it? Verse 12 KJV, by what attitudes and actions shall I kiss the Son today?

Isaiah 5:1-30. Verse 20, related question, how is the inversion of good and evil manifested in our times? What is my church doing about it? My role?

James 2:14-26. Faith and works inseparable. If someone had watched me for the past week, but heard nothing I said, how fully convinced would they be that I actively follow and imitate Jesus Christ?

Luke 15:11-32. The Prodigal Son. Verses 17-19, when have I hit bottom spiritually, broken by sin? How did God show up? Application for this day?
