Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 31:1-24. Verse 5, by what words and actions should I be committing myself to God every day? Why must this not be optional or sporadic? What will God do for me in return?
Isaiah 15:1-9. God’s stern judgment upon Moab. When has my sin brought upon me any such ordeal? What did I learn? Application for today?
II Thessalonians 2:13-3:5. Verses 15-17, amid this week’s political storms, what would it look like for me to stand fast in Christ, established by him in good words and good works?
Luke 18:15-23. Verse 17, related question, what are the childlike qualities that Jesus requires of me to enter his kingdom? Is it unrealistic to bring those qualities even into my political endeavors?
