Bible Wednesday 10/12: Hope of Glory

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 106:1-48. Verses 7, 13, 21, our tendency to forget God. What’s an example of my doing this yesterday? How can I do better today?

Ezra 9:1-15. The Jews’ intimacy with their heathen neighbors displeases God. What’s the lesson for me as I try to live a godly life in often-godless surroundings?

Colossians 1:1-29. Verse 24, what would it look like for me to experience in my flesh—even in a small way—the afflictions of Christ for the sake of his church?

Luke 11:45-54. Verses 46 and 52, how legalism imposes unneeded burdens and hides the needed key. Has this been done to me, or have I done it to others? Action point for today?
