Bible Wednesday 10/19: Purpose-Driven

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:89-128. Verse 105, in what particular way do I need a lamp to light my path today? How can God’s word in the Bible specifically furnish me that light?

Nehemiah 6:1-19. Psychological warfare against Nehemiah and the wall builders. What enemies seek to intimidate, distract, or ensnare me today from doing the kingdom work God has given me?

Galatians 3:1-14. Verse 1 KJV, same question, are there powers or persons seeking to bewitch me away from the truth of Jesus Christ crucified? What’s my defense against that?

Luke 13:1-9. Exactly what fruit, and how much of it, does Jesus expect from me? Where does pleasing him rank among my priorities this week? Action point?
