Bible Saturday 2/26: Get Out of the Boat

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 141:1-10. Verse 5, when has a fellow Christian righteously called me to account? What did I learn? Present application?

Jeremiah 11:1-23. Verses 18-23, threatening Jeremiah’s life to silence his unwelcome prophecy. How does this address my past experiences or my present calling?

Romans 11:1-10. Verses 4 and 5, God’s faithful undaunted remnant. How can I know I’m one of them? How can I recognize others who qualify? What’s our task in these wicked times?

Matthew 14:22-36. Verses 28-31, if Jesus invites me to get out of the boat and stand with him, what would that actually look like today, right now? How do I overcome the fear of sinking?
