Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 130:1-8. Verses 5 and 6, what is the one thing, more than all others, that is teaching me to wait for the Lord? Why does he want me to learn this?
Jeremiah 8:1-22. Verse 22, medicine for the soul, physicians for the soul, hard to find amidst all the talk of health these days. How is my church ministering to this pandemic? My role?
Romans 9:14-29. Verses 21 and 22, to be as clay for shaping under God’s hand today, what qualities must I express? What shaping does he intend for me at present (or is it unclear)?
Matthew 13:53-58. Are there some ways in which I’m perhaps too familiar with Jesus to honor and adore him as he deserves? Action point?
