Bible Thursday 4/14: Thy Will, Not Mine

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 116:1-19. Verses 4, 13, and 17 KJV, call on the name of the Lord. For what specific need shall I do this today?

Lamentations 4:1-22. Zion rejects the fine gold and incurs God’s wrath. When have I turned my back on the Lord? What did I learn?

Matthew 26:17-56. Verse 41, how am I experiencing the struggle between willingness of spirit and weakness of flesh at present? How shall I lay this before Jesus?

John 13:1-30. This day or one day soon, how can I put into action the humble Christlike love that washes someone’s feet?
