Bible Wednesday 4/13: She Did It for My Burial

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 69:1-36. Verse 7, what Jesus, in his last week on earth, had to bear for the Father’s sake. What am I willing to bear for Jesus’ sake?

Lamentations 3:1- 66. Verses 22 and 23, the beloved hymn, “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” in its dark and difficult context. Am I using this Holy Week to deepen my awareness of what the way of the Cross means in everyday life?

Matthew 26:1-16. By what attitudes and actions can I show Jesus today the adoration that the woman at Bethany with her ointment showed him?

Luke 20:9-19. Verse 14, how does the worldly mind in these times lust to seize for itself what rightly belongs to the Son of God? In what subtle form does this operate even on me?
