Bible Friday 4/29: Arm Yourself

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 143:1-12. Verse 2, no one justified on his own. What are some ways in which the “I’m a pretty good person” defense would fail if I had to face God’s justice without Christ crucified?

Ezekiel 14:1-23. Verse 14, Noah, Daniel, and Job as mighty intercessors, influential with God. How can I become better at praying for others? Who especially needs my prayers at present?

I Peter 4:1-11. Verse 1, imitate the sufferings of Christ. What opportunity is Jesus offering me right now to begin doing this more faithfully?

John 4:15-26. To rightly worship the Father in the time, place, and manner outlined here, what do I need to do differently?
