Bible Wednesday 5/18: The Good Shepherd

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 42:1-11. Verses 3 and 10, when my prayers seem unanswered, and the scoffers ask what’s become of my God, what answer shall I give them?

Ezekiel 33:1-33. Verse 7, if all of us in my church are God’s watchman to the community, what warning should we now be giving them? What way of escape by God’s grace shall we recommend to them?

I Corinthians 14:1-13. Verses 7-9, related, how can I better equip myself to tell about the things of God to inquirers unused to the “insider talk” of most Christians?

John 10:7-21. Verses 9-11, by what attitudes and actions today can I defeat the thief’s destructive aims and partake of the life Jesus offers?
