Bible Tuesday 5/24: New Commandment

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 63:1-11. Verses 5-7, night meditations. Next time I can’t sleep, what shall I talk to God about? How will that bring me joy?

Ezekiel 39:1-29. As God makes ready a great storm on the earth to assert his sovereignty, crush his enemies, and redeem his people, what must I and my family and my church do to prepare?

Ephesians 1:15-23. Paul’s prayer for his flock in the early church. Over whom shall I specifically pray this today, to meet an urgent need?

John 13:31-38. Verse 34, how does this new commandment from Jesus ask more of me than simply loving my neighbor (which is hard enough)? For what person shall I put this into practice today?
