Bible Monday 5/9: Feed on Him

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 19:1-14. Verses 12 and 13 KJV, when have my personal blind spots led me to do harm through secret faults and presumptuous sins? What did I learn? Present application?

Ezekiel 24:1-27. As a sign to unfaithful Israel, God forbids Ezekiel to mourn his wife’s sudden death. Where (if at all) does present-day martyrdom figure into my own approach to the Christian life?

I Corinthians 11:27-34. Do I take the sacrament of holy communion as seriously as Jesus wants me to? How does my church implement the warning given in this passage? Why does it matter?

John 6:28-40. Verses 32-35, in addition to periodically receiving communion, what attitudes and actions will enable me to be spiritually nourished with Jesus’ bread of life every day?
