Bible Tuesday 7/19: Nathan Confronts David

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 48:1-14. Verses 12 and 13, how shall I go about exploring and mapping Zion, the city of God? What practical benefit can I gain from doing so today?

II Samuel 12:1-31. Verse 7, the prophet arraigns the king before God’s bar of justice. In these secular times, is there any way the church can hold up a moral standard for the civil government?

Acts 14:1-7. Paul and Barnabas risk their lives for the gospel. Has discipleship ever really cost me anything?

Mark 8:22-26. A man’s sight first partly restored, then fully restored, by Jesus. When has it seemed the Lord was taking me only halfway home? How did I deal with that? Application for today?
