Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 50:1-23. Verses 1, 4, and 5, God calls all creation and all creatures to gather and be judged by him. In what specific way shall I respond to this summons today?
II Samuel 13:1-39. Violent strife among David’s sons and daughters. When have I seen destructive patterns passed down in families? What is God’s remedy for this?
Acts 14:8-20. Verse 19, Paul stoned by a mob and left for dead. Is there a risk I could take for Jesus, that I’ve been putting off or shying from?
Mark 8:27-30. More and more in our times, we hear warnings of a “Christless Christianity.” How would that creep into a church like mine or a heart like mine? How shall I counteract it?
