Bible Thursday 9/1: Commit to God

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 2:1-12. Verse 12 KJV, kiss the Son. In what practical ways can I lavish upon Jesus my active adoration today?

II Kings 10:1-36. Verse 31, King Jehu pleases God by exterminating the dynasty of Ahab and the religion of Baal, but stumbles with self-will. What is there in me that says “yes but” to fully obeying God?

Job 5:1-16. Verses 6-8, what burden or trouble have I been bearing too much on my own, that I can commit into God’s care today?

Luke 4:38-44. Verses 39 and 41 KJV, does my prayer life include not only appealing to God’s goodness, but also directly rebuking evil?
