Bible Wednesday 8/31: Arrogance

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 150:1-6. Verse 6 KJV, what if I could reach a point where praise and prayer to God are as natural as breathing out and breathing in? Shall I pause for a few breaths every hour today to practice this?

II Kings 9:1-37. Verse 22 KJV, how does the Jezebel type translate into present-day forms of rebellion against God? What’s the contemporary equivalent of her whoredom and her witchcraft?

Job 4:1-21. Verse 17, when was there a time that I was sure God was wrong and I was right? What did I learn? Present application?

Luke 4:31-37. Spurned at the Nazareth synagogue, Jesus is acclaimed at the Capernaum synagogue. How can I gain some measure of his authority over demons? Why do I need it?
