Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 147:1-20. God’s sovereignty over environment, ecosystems, climate, and human flourishing. Does my church understand this?
II Kings 8:1-29. By knowing Elisha, the woman (and her son, restored to life) are enabled to survive the famine and recover their land. What person have I found it valuable to know, for God’s blessings?
Job 3:1-26. Job in the depth of misery and depression. What’s the lowest I have ever been? How did God show up? Present application?
Luke 4:16-30. Nazareth angrily rejects Jesus. The longer I know the Lord, do I more and more adore him or more and more take him for granted?
