Bible Friday 8/19: Jesus Arrested

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:49-88. Verses 67, 71, 75, when has affliction increased my closeness to God. How can the lessons I then learned help me today?

I Kings 19:1-21. Verses 4 and 14, related question, what is the most discouraged I have ever been? How did God show up? Present application?

Acts 24:22-25:12. The Romans and Jews, thinking to be rid of Paul, merely speed his way to Rome as God had promised. What obstacle I’m now facing, shall I pray God inverts to further his purpose?

Mark 14:43-52. In honest awareness of my own flaws and weaknesses, what sense I make of Judas’ betrayal of Jesus? Prayer point?
