Bible Thursday 8/18: Vigilant for Christ

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:1-48. Verse 10 KJV, what are the attitudes that may result in my wandering away from God? What are the consequences when I wander? How shall I guard against that today?

I Kings 18:1-46. Verse 21, related question, halting between two opinions. Have I at times had, or do I now have, one foot in a worldly way of life and one foot in a godly way of life? Action point?

Acts 24:1-21. Verse 16, Paul’s conscience, void of offense toward God and men. What’s on my conscience today? Action point?

Mark 14:27-42. Verses 37-41, what would it look like for me to stand alert with Jesus all day today, not sleepily but watchfully?
