Bible Monday 2/13: Yet Sinners

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 107:1-43. Verses 5 and 9, what has been my experience with God satisfying the hunger and thirst of my soul? What false nourishment, not really satisfying to the soul, must I avoid today?

Genesis 44:1-34. Judah, formerly motivated only by profit (Gen. 37:26), now offers to sacrifice himself for his father and brother. When have I learned a hard lesson about family love and loyalty?

Romans 5:1-11. Verses 6-8, what do I know about myself that would make me undeserving for Jesus Christ to shed his blood and die for me? How can I thank him today?

Matthew 12:43-50. How can I know the will of the Father, for the doing of which Jesus promises me intimacy with him?
