Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 108:1-13. Verses 7-10, God’s sovereign, saving power over all nations. What shall I pray he does today in places like Ukraine, China, and Turkey… Ohio, Alaska, and Washington DC?
Genesis 46:1-34. Jacob sacrifices, prays, and listens to God before deciding to go to Egypt. What important decision or endeavor am I facing right now, that must not go forward without prayer>
Romans 6:1-14. What traits or tendencies of the “old me” must I treat as dead and buried today, in order to live anew with Christ?
Matthew 13:10-17. Verse 11, how would I explain to a new Christian, what it means for us to know the mysteries of the kingdom? What new obligations and opportunities does this place on me today?
