Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 45:1-17. Verses 3-6, picturing the Son of God as a warrior king. What battle do I need to have King Jesus fight for me today? What would victory look like?
Genesis 18:1-33. Verse 14, is anything too hard for God? Have I unconsciously been putting some of my needs or desires in the “too hard” category? Prayer point for today?
Hebrews 9:11-28. Verse 27, what’s involved in getting myself ready to die? Is it morbid to decide I should pay some attention to this every day, starting now?
Matthew 7:1-12. Verses 3-5, Jesus warns us about the mote and the beam. When have I disregarded this? What was the result? Present application?
