Bible Monday 12/4: Afire for Christ

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 86:1-17. Verse 11, what specifically do I want to have God teach me today? How will I then be different?

Esther 6:1-14. The king by surprise exalts Mordecai and abases Haman. When have I experienced God’s sense of humor?

Revelation 14:14-20. Grapes of God’s wrath. Who is the object of this bloody reckoning? What must I do to be prepared for it and protected from it?

Matthew 3:1-12. Related, orchards and wheat fields to be cleansed by God’s fire. How shall I show myself today as a tree bearing good fruit, spared from the axe?
