Bible Friday 1/5: He Sees You

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 17:1-15. Verse 8, what would it look like for God to keep me as the apple of his eye today? Why would he be willing to do that, considering everything he knows about me?

Deuteronomy 5:1-33. How God used Moses to bring the Decalogue to the frightened Israelites. What frightens me today? How can I be used for God’s purposes regardless?

John 1:43-51. Nathanael awed by Jesus’ foreknowledge of him. What secrets of mine, sweet and bitter, does Jesus know? What shall I pray for him to do about it?

Matthew 3:1-12. Verse 9, what would it look like for me and my family to be made children of Abraham today, not by human pedigree and effort but by God’s power and glory?
