Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 123:1-4. What does God want me to keep my eyes fixed upon, as this season of Advent comes to its climax on Christmas? What distractions, pulling my eyes elsewhere, must I resist?
Micah 2:1-13. What is the oppression that God wants me to resist and redress as best I can? What disguise does it hide behind?
I Thessalonians 5:1-11. Verse 5, what attitudes and actions will identify me as one of the children of light, not the children of darkness, for the glory of God?
Luke 3:7-20. Verse 16, in the coming year how does Jesus want me to live as his disciple baptized with the Holy Spirit and with fire?
