Bible Thursday 12/21: Every Valley

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 121:1-8. How does it make today and tonight better, to realize that I am in the constant keeping of our God who never sleeps?

Micah 1:1-16. Verses 3-7, how do current events display God’s righteous destruction of idolatry? How can I escape all this and take refuge with him today?

I Thessalonians 4:13-18. Preview of Jesus’ second coming. What difference does it make if I believe or disbelieve this? If Jesus returns today, what do I want him to find me doing?

Luke 3:1-6. Verses 4 and 5, related, what practical attitudes and actions are required of me by the poetic symbolism of making a straight path for God?
