Bible Friday 2/17: Losing a Generation?

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 119:1-48. Verse 9, how effectively is my church preparing our youth to love God and obey him? My role?

Genesis 48:1-22. Jacob, in blessing Joseph’s sons, favors the younger over the older. Did both men recall how God had done something similar with them? When have things taken an odd turn in my own family?

Zephaniah 1:1-11. God warns of a heavy judgment to fall on the unfaithful. Are my church, my family, and I prepared for things in this world to get worse before they get better? What’s the demand on me today?

Matthew 13:24-30. Jesus’ parable of wheat and tares. What can I learn from this about timing, touch, and discernment in any kingdom work I’m currently doing?
