Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 119:49-88. Verses 67, 71, 75, holy affliction. When has a long tough ordeal ended up doing me good, by God’s grace? Present application?
Genesis 49:1-33. Jacob’s prophetic counsel for his twelve sons and their tribes. What spiritual legacy do I want to leave for loved ones who will survive me, generation after generation? Action point for today?
Zephaniah 1:12-18. Verse 17, God warns that sinners will experience spiritual blindness. What form does this take at present? Of what value to me is keen spiritual sight?
Matthew 13:31-35. Is Jesus’ kingdom tree, grown from the mustard seed, flourishing or languishing these days? What good is the tree to me? What good am I to the tree?
