Bible Sunday 2/26: Heart Health

Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?

Psalms 139:1-24. Verses 11 and 12, when was there a time when I wanted darkness to hide my thoughts or actions from God? How did that turn out?

Proverbs 4:1-27. Verse 23, if the health routine for my bodily heart includes diet, exercise, meds, and so forth, what is the health routine for my spiritual heart? Where have I been lax? Action point today?

Romans 8:18-25. Verse 22, all creation groans. Related to the previous question, what should be the Christian’s environmental agenda in spiritual terms? What is my church doing about it?

Matthew 4:1-11. Jesus rebuffs the devil with words from Scripture. What is one or more Bible truths or promises I can camp on today? How might the “if God is for real” temptation come at me today?
