Studying this morning's four readings from the St. James Daily Devotional Guide (click to subscribe), I examined myself with these questions. Where is your self-examination leading today?
Psalms 18:1-50. Verses 16-19, when has God graciously rescued me in a material or spiritual way? How can I thank him today?
Proverbs 14:1-35. Verse 21, how can I be a better neighbor to people living near me? How can I be more kind to the poor? Why does it matter?
Romans 12:1-8. Verse 2, what worldly conformity does Jesus want me to cease from? What transformation of heart and mind does he want to accomplish in me? Action point for today?
Matthew 18:21-35. Is there someone toward whom my forgiveness is all but exhausted? Is there a flaw in me that God and loved ones have forgiven over and over? Who do I think I am, anyway?
